John S. Garrison is a writer living in Los Angeles. His work appears in The Atlantic, The Gay & Lesbian Review, Literary Hub, The New York Times, and elsewhere. Garrison is the author of seven books, including Glass, The Pleasures of Memory in Shakespeare's Sonnets and Red Hot + Blue. He is also co-editor of the Spotlight on Shakespeare book series, which explores how the plays and poems can help us make sense of today's world. In 2021, he was named a Guggenheim Fellow.
Numerous organizations have recognized Garrison with awards, fellowships, and prizes.
